About Us
The founders of Galayda Made grips, Mike and
Blake Galayda with their 1911 and first set of grips.
Galayda Made grips was founded in 2006 by
Michael Galayda and his son. They started
out by making a set of wood grips for their
1911. People liked the grips, and so Mike
and his son started making more. They have
been sold to several gun shops and also at
the gun show at the Dulles Expo Center.
Why We Don't
Checker Our Grips
We hand select the wood that we use. We choose wood that has
beautiful grain and character. When you checker grips, you lose
both of those. We only make smooth grips, to preserve the
wood's comely appearance. When it comes to gripping the gun,
smooth grips work fine. We find that when shooting, smooth
grips are actually better because they don't tear up your hand.
Since we hand select the wood, the sets are numbered, and
limited supplies are available.
The Galayda
Made Guarentee
I stand behind every set of Galayda Made grips
for one reason. I hand select, cut, sand, and finish
every set of grips myself. I sell my grips for $50
per set, at gun shows, and to many of my friends.
Remember one thing, I can't make millions, but I
can make hundreds with quality and pride.
